Swimming Pool – A fine installation

The idea for “Swimming Pool” by Leandro Erlich was first conceived in 1998 while the artist was in residence in Houston as part of the Core program. Since then, it was featured at the Venice Biennale and has found a home as part of the permanent collection at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan.
Erlich has constructed a full-size pool, complete with all its trappings, including a deck and a ladder. When approached from the first floor, visitors are confronted with a surreal scene: people, fully clothed, can be seen standing, walking, and breathing beneath the surface of the water.
These pictures are installations from the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center andThe 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art.

10 reasons to start a blog

1. You get to possess your own place in the (virtual) world - a .blogspot or .com is much cheaper than a house.
2. It makes you more beautiful. It's your blog, and everyone knows that photoshop is your best friend in blogging.
3. You get a new name. People stop calling you by your real name and start to refer to you as your blog name.
4. Expert status is simply handed to you. About 24 hours after you start your blog everyone will start to refer to you as an "expert".
5. You get free stuff. There are no such things as free dinners, but there are free products, lots of them.
6. You learn a new language. "Once I got the BO for the MPU, the campaign went live and I sent a screen shot to the agency, who were happy with the initial CTR & CPM".
7. You can officially be a part of the Google gang. Almost everything you do is followed by: ‘I wonder how that will affect my google ranking' and when you wake up in the morning your first thought is, ‘I should check to see if google changed the algorithm again."
8. You get a whole new identity. If you wish to confound someone who asks, "What do you do?', say ‘I'm a blogger'. Usually they say, ‘Oh that's interesting' and move on.
9. Wedding invitations start to arrive thick and fast. Every time you takea photo at the wedding, everyone asks, ‘Will that be on your blog?'
10. The 15 minutes of fame. When you are the person that can give people fame, you sort of take on a weird kind of fame yourself.

Sabiha says:

Hi Guys,

817 page views later, I decided it was time for you all to hear from me. It's been so much fun blogging its been great!! And to hear the comments, makes it all even more worth the time. At the moment, I'm working on another creative page similar to this one, and will put up the link, once I feel it's a ready to be viewed.

So, what I really wanted to know was, who are my followers? Right now, I only see 4 people on the top right corner, and thats all about what I know. I'd love to have you guys on my side of the team, that way I can cater my posts to you all. Usually, I'm just putting up random stuff that I find interesting, coz that was the plan initially, but if I knew who regularly visited this page, I can suit to their needs too, and make the whole process more fun.

oh and hey, blogging is really cool! If anyone out there is interested at starting something up, give me a shout if you need a hand :)

Mucho Gracias [its spanish for Thanks Very Much]
nah I don't speak spanish, I just like to think I can ;)

A Wonderful World - just change your words

Disappearing Dosi - Something to Ponder!

Listen to the advice given by an elderly lady ('DOSI') in Gujrati
regarding ignoring the old parents. This applies to the present
day generation who somehow overlook the fact and forget to
appreciate that parent's blessings are very important in life

We – the nation

We are the people, who
were born and brought up in a land
other than our own, made to believe that
this is home. To them, home is Tanzania.

I look around me, trying
to find solace in the people, strange
as it may seem, they are all a different nation.
I look at them, make my first move, a feeling
of solitude overpowering me. I am
not from them, not from here.

Friendships are built, relationships flourish,
children grow, parents age, all through the
years, adding days to our lives. My longing for home
continues. Home is where the heart is.

With Indian ancestors, a Tanzanian birthplace
and a house in dubai, life is
a three ring circus. I look forward
to that day when I will find a place,
a place where I shall retire,
a place I will call home.

Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark :  Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark .

ONE
:  Don't miss the boat.
TWO
:  Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE
:  Plan ahead.  It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR
:  Stay fit.  When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE
:  Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX:
Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN
:  For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT
:  Speed isn't always an advantage.  The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE
:  When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN
:  Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN
:  No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.
